This post is to update you on how to link your NIN to your Airtel SIM Card with ease – Are you an AIRTEL subscriber? Do you own an Airtel line? Have you heard of the Airtel-NIN linking/connection? NIN SIM Registration only requires your NIMC Number or National Identity Card and any network provider of your choice in this case Airtel.
Have you linked your Airtel line to NIN which is the new development by the NCC. According to the NCC directive, lines not linked with their NIN before 30th December 2020, will be blocked.

What is a NIN?
The National Identification Number (NIN) is the unique number which identifies you as a Nigerian, and is issued to you upon enrolment by NIMC (the National Identity Management Commission). It is used to match your biometric data and other details in the National Identity Database during verification and authentication.
How do I register for National Identification Number (NIN)?
You can register in any NIMC ECRs (Enrolment Centres) close to you. Kindly visit www.nimc.gov.ng for a list of all enrolment centers nationwide.
How do I confirm that I have registered and I have my NIN number or How to retrieve my NIN?
You can check your NIN Slip, it has your 11 Digit Number at the top left corner, on the second row. You can also dial *346# and press 1, please note that you may be charged 20 naira.
How to link your AIRTEL LINE TO NIN – Easy Steps to connecting your Airtel SIM Card To NIN/NIMC
All Airtel subscribers/ users are to follow the below instruction
- Dial *121# or *121*1#
- Press 1
- Type in your NIN
- Press send
To confirm that you did the correct thing, you will receive another SMS from Aritel stating “ Thank you for providing your NIN details 1234567890. SMS confirmation will be sent to you once your NIN has been validated and updated”
