Sadiya U. Farouq flags off NOA Staff Training – The Honorable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Sadiya U. Farouq has flagged off the National Orientation Agency (NOA) staff training for the Government Enterprise Empowerment Program (GEEP).

There is a need for the NOA Staff Training for GEEP to take place for proper implementation and execution.

GEEP is an initiative set up by the Federal Government (FG), through the ministry of Humanitarian Affairs. It is solely introduced to give out interest-free loans to vulnerable Nigerians.

Collateral is not demanded for, as long as the beneficiaries fall beneath the economic pyramid, such as disabled persons.

Note, the GEEP is one of the categories of the National Social Investment Programs NSIP initiated by the federal government of Nigeria.

NOA Staff Receive Training on Government Empowerment Programme

The Minister explained that the training is in collaboration with the National Orientation Agency, NOA, considering its vast capacity to adequately engage, mobilize and sensitize the public on Government programmes and policies.

“The NOA is identified as one of the organs of Government agencies largely spread across all states and Local Governments with the capacity to adequately engage mobilize and sensitize the public on Government programmes and policies.

It is in this vein that the Ministry entered a partnership with this agency to appoint the Community Orientation and Mobilization officers (COMO’s) as the – “GEEP Local Government Desk Officers” at all the 774 local government levels areas across the 36 states and the FCT’’

  1. Sensitize communities on the GEEP programme
  2. Register interested beneficiaries of TraderMoni, MarketMoni and FarmerMoni
  3. Collect and collate necessary data for the programme
  4. Provide necessary feedback to the programme coordinators at State and Federal Levels
  5. Encourage active participation in the programme
  6. Uphold the mandate of the programme and lead with honesty, fairness under conditions of oath.
