How to create a good Blog/website With a difference

Website content planning

Creating a web content requires a lot of thinking, dedication, creativity etc for example building a new house, it is important for you to plan, draw out the plan for the house. This is also applicable to creating of a good web site.

It is advisable to spend at least 60% of your time on planning and arranging your web site and the rest 40% for taking action. If proper planning is been carried out, you will see some challenges and know how to handle them in case it comes up on the long run.

DETERMINE THE GOALS FOR YOUR WEBSITE

What am I trying to accomplish?

Why are building a website without setting a goal for yourself you cannot achieve a good result, is either it will be filled with too much irrelevant information, little information or wrong information. Example a site for fashion with sports news vice versa. Knowing what you are trying to accomplish will help you build a good site. Setting a goal will enable you to be efficient in the process.

Are you building an e-commerce site (selling product), for a company, a content publisher etc, you ought to know before you start.

LEARN HOW TO MONETIZE YOUR BLOG

Pinpoint your target audience and try to understand their interest

Who are your target, who are you creating the site for, how can you provide your audience with information, are you targeted audience content readers or video screamers, then you know how to set you web site.

Call-to-action
what do you want your audience that visited your site to do on it. Your client will not take any action when they are on your page, you will be the one asking them to take action. For example if your aim is for client to download from your site or downloading of E-books, then your CALL-OF-ACTION will be “download your E-book”, if your site is for traffic or information/content only, the your CALL OF ACTION will be “share this page/post/article with a friend. If it’s for buying of products online, then it will be “add to cart”

You have to figure out how to get your readers to navigate through your site, other than to complete the call-to-action fast.

Go through other website

There is no rule that says you cannot spy on other websites. Check out what they have that you don’t have and that should be included on your site and improve /add more values to it.

Go through other sites that offer the same services as yours, take a look at theirs, try to get some ideas from them, improve and add more values to it to create your own.
