It is approved by the National Board for Technical Education and it also offers National Diploma and Higher National Diploma courses at undergraduate levels with the aim of training competitive manpower for development.

The Governing Council of the Polytechnic invites applications from interested and suitably qualified candidates to fill the position below:

(1)Job Title: Director, Works & Services

Location: Idah, Kogi

Responsibilities

  • The Director of Works & Services is a Management staff responsible to the Rector and heads the Directorate of Works & Services, coordinates, supervises and maintains the physical development, transportation, general maintenance services and projects of the Polytechnic in such a way as to ensure quality and standard.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Good honors Degree in any of either Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 21 years of cognate work experience, Master’s Degree with 18 years cognate work experience or Ph.D. with 15 years cognate work experience and in all cases, three of which must be in a position of Chief Engineer.
  • Membership and registration with NSE and COREN
  • A good knowledge of computer applications.
  • The Director, Works & Services must be a person of high integrity who demonstrate transparency in public and private lives and likely to command the respect and loyalty of staff of the Polytechnic.
  • He/she must also be receptive to new ideas and willing to translate them into action in line with the vision and mission of the Polytechnic.

Terms of Appointment

  • The Salary is CONTEDISS 15
  • Other terms and conditions of appointment are as provided by the conditions of service of the Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria and as may be determined from time to time by the Federal Government of Nigeria or the Governing Council of the Polytechnic.

(2)Job Title: Director, Physical Planning

Location: Idah, Kogi

Responsibilities

  • The Director of Physical Planning is a Management staff answerable to the Rector on the Physical Planning Development of the Polytechnic.
  • He/She heads the Directorate of Physical Planning and responsible for the coordination and supervision of physical developmental projects, ensures quality and standard of the infrastructures of the Polytechnic.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • The Director, Physical Planning must be a person of high integrity who demonstrate transparency in public and private lives and likely to command the respect and loyalty of staff of the Polytechnic.
  • He/she must also be receptive to new ideas and willing to translate them into action in line with the vision and mission of the Polytechnic.
  • Good honours Degree in Architecture, Quantity Surveying, Building, Town Planning, Estate Management and Valuation or Civil Engineering with 21 years of cognate work experience or Masters Degree with 18 years cognate work experience or Ph.D with 15 years cognate work experience and in all cases, three of which must be on the position of a Chief as the case may be.
  • Membership and registration with relevant professional bodies
  • Must be computer literate with working knowledge of relevant softwares.
  • Vast knowledge of public procurement process and project management.

(3)Job Title: Bursar

Location: Idah, Kogi

Description

  • The Bursar is the Chief Financial Officer of the Polytechnic responsible to the Rector for the day to day administration and control of the financial affairs of the Polytechnic.
  • He/She is one of the Principal Officers of the Polytechnic.
  • He/She heads the Bursary and the custodian of the Polytechnic finances.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A First Degree with at least a second class lower division or Higher National Diploma (HND) with at least a lower credit in Accountancy or Finance related disciplines from a recognized institution of higher learning;
  • A minimum of twenty-two (22) years post qualification cognate experience for First Degree and HND holders in Accounting or similar discipline in a Polytechnic or similar TVET institution;
  • Registration with any of, ICAN, ANAN, ACCA, CIPF, ICMA or ICPA or any other professional accounting body/bodies recognized by the Federal Government; be currently on the rank of Chief Accountant or Chief Auditor or Deputy Bursar for a period of NOT less than four [4] years in a tertiary institution of learning;
  • Be proficient in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) skills and packages;
  • Not more than fifty-nine [59] years of age as at 19th June, 2023;
  • Strong financial and administrative leadership, initiative and creativity in financial policy formulation, good human relation and positive managerial attributes;
  • Be a person who is not likely to pursue racial, gender, political, religious or other sectional interest;
  • Be morally sound, of impeccable character, proven integrity and free from financial embarrassment; and
  • Be physically and mentally fit [with evidence from a government hospital].

Terms of Appointment

  • The appointment is for a single tenure of five [5] years in line with extant provisions.

Conditions Of Service
The salary is consolidated and the appointees shall enjoy any other benefits attached to the position of a Principal Officer of the Polytechnic as approved by Federal Government.

(4)Job Title: Registrar

Location: Idah, Kogi

Job Description

  • The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the Polytechnic.
  • Responsible to the Rector for the day to day administration of the Polytechnic and shall perform such other duties as the Governing Council or, as the case may be, the Rector may from time to time require him/her to do.
  • The Registrar is one of the Principal Officers of the Polytechnic and heads the Registry and custodian of Polytechnic documents.
  • He/She is the Secretary to the Council, the Academic Board, the Congregation and any committee of the Council.

Qualifications and Requirements

The candidate for the post must possess the following qualifications and qualities:

  • A First Degree with a minimum of second class lower division or Higher National Diploma [HND] with at least a lower credit in Social Sciences, Education, Arts, Humanities and other related disciplines from a recognized institution of higher learning;
  • A minimum of twenty-two [22] years post qualification cognate experience for first degree and HND holders or Master’s degree in relevant discipline with a minimum of nineteen [19] years post qualification cognate experience, Doctorate degree (Ph.D) in relevant discipline with a minimum of thirteen [13] years post qualification cognate experience, at least ten [10] years which must have been gained in a Polytechnic or similar TVET institution
  • Be a registered member with relevant professional bodies recognized by the Federal Government
  • Be currently on the rank of Deputy Registrar for a period of NOT less than four [4] years in a higher institution of learning;
  • Be proficient in Information and Communication Technology skills and packages;
  • Not more than fifty-nine [59] years of age as at 11th July, 2023;
  • Strong administrative leadership, initiative and creativity in administration, policy formulation, good human relation and positive in managerial
  • attributes:
  • Knowledgeable in the Public Service Rules and regulations of the Polytechnic system;
