This position is based in Abuja, Nigeria, and offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by armed conflict and other situations of violence.

As a Movement Cooperation Specialist 1, you will play a pivotal role in developing, refining, and implementing the ICRC’s objectives for cooperation with the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (the Movement). You will work closely with the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) to build and strengthen the operational partnership between the two organizations.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Analyze and summarize information relevant to the operational partnership between the ICRC and the NRCS
  • Identify gaps in capacity in the field and propose solutions
  • Develop the partnership skills of ICRC operational department and NRCS counterparts
  • Ensure that all operational staff within the ICRC are aware of the Movement’s activities in the country
  • Advise ICRC departments on their approaches and work attitude towards their NRCS counterparts

Qualifications Criteria

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • 6 to 9 years of work experience in a field relevant to Movement Cooperation
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a Movement Cooperation Officer or international work experience with the ICRC or any other Movement components
  • Excellent spoken and written English language skills
  • Knowledge of another ICRC language is an advantage
