Npower Beneficiaries Exit Updates- FG begins Removal of Npower Beneficiaries 2016, 2017 & 2018

Npower Beneficiary 2016, 2017 and 2018 Exist Update – The Federal Government of Nigeria has began the removal of NPower beneficiaries who are have stayed above the agreed duration of the Npower programme (two-year duration) of their contracts.

It’s been more than a year and 4 months now after the contract of some of the Npower beneficiaries elapsed, yet they are yet to be removed the scheme.

A senior official at the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development told our news persons that the removal of the affected Npower Beneficiaries is long overdue and need to be done.

The Special Assistant, Media, to the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Halima Oyelade, said in her statement that “The process of removal of these beneficiaries have started and it is being done because many of them have naturally stayed beyond their contract terms of 2 years as sign in the agreement of the 2016 npower recruitment ”.

Although Oyelade could not confirm the number of those to be affected, but the Minister had earlier hinted that the government would begin the exit scheme soon.

Farouq had revealed in December that the Federal Government was considering a complete restructuring of the N-Power programme.

Remember that the N-Power initiative is one of the four clusters of National Social Investment Programmes of the Federal Government designed to stem the tide of poverty, unemployment and social insecurity in Nigeria. It is a job creation and economic empowerment component of the NSIP for young unemployed Nigerians and the programme was slated for two years only.

She told journalists in Abuja that officials of the NSIP were of the view that the N-Power initiative be restructured.
