The NLNG accepts application from suitably qualified applicant for the NLNG Ship Management Limited (NSML) to occupy the positions listed below;

Job Title: Fourth Officer

Ref: NSH/4E/2018/02/002
Location: Onboard
Job Grade: Shipboard Officer
Contract Type: Voyage Contract

The Job
To provide assistance to the engine room team onboard the ship and carryout all duties as prescribed by the Chief Engineer. The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

• He/She must understudy the Second and Third Engineer Officers.
• He/She must keep an Engine Room watch.
• directed by the Second Engineer
• The Fourth Engineer Officer must keep an engine room watch, or, on UMS ships, must act as duly engineer in rotation
• He/She is responsible for the safely of all personnel working under his/her supervision
• He/She is responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the Engine Room safety equipment as
• The Fourth Engineer must carry out any lawful command and delegated duty as issued by the Chief Engineer and/or the Master.

The Person
The right candidate should:

• Be a Nigerian seafarer
• Have a minimum of three months experience on Gas Tanker
• Have a minimum of COW Engineering Certificate of Competency (Steam & Motor) issued by a Maritime Agency in any of the underlisted countries.
• Be 18 years of age or above.

Mandatory Certificates:

• International Passport
• Seaman’s Discharge Book
• STCW Mandatories (PSSR, PST, Fire Fighting and Prevention)
• STCW Advanced certificates (PSCRB & Advanced Fire Fighting) from any of the underlisted countries
• Yellow Fever Card
• Advanced Gas Tanker certificate (LNG/LPG)
• Liquefied Natural Gas Endorsement
• High Voltage Certificate (operational level)
• Gas Tanker Familiarisation
• Human Element and Leadership Management (Operational Level)
• Medical First Aid
• Safely Officer Certificate
• Designated Security Duties
• Shipboard Security Officer

Other Certificates:

• Seafarer Medical Certificate from any of the underlisted countries.

Job Title: Third Officer

Ref: NSH/30/2018/02/001
Location: Onboard
Job Grade: Shipboard Officer
Contract Type: Voyage Contract

The Job
To provide assistance to the deck team onboard the ship and carry out all duties as prescribed by the master. The duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

• The Third Officer understudies and assists the Second Officer. He/She must keep a navigational watch.
• During cargo operations, he/she will assist with cargo operations, stability ballast operations, moorings and
• ship securely during the period of his watch.
• He/She is responsible for the safely of all personnel working for him.Where required shall act as nominated officer for the GMDSS station with responsibility for associated tests and records.
• He/She is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all deck portable firefighting equipment and life saving appliances.
• The Third Officer must carry out any lawful command and delegated duly as issued by the Master.
• He/She is responsible to the Master for the completion of records of on -board training.
• He/She is responsible for the upkeep of the Recreational and Technical library.

The Person
The right candidate should:

• Be a Nigerian seafarer
• Have a minimum of three months experience on Gas Tanker
• Have a minimum of OOW Deck Certificate of Competency issued by a Maritime Agency in any of the underlisted countries.
• Be 18 years of age or above.
