As the name of the scholarship implies, was founded by Mr. Jim Ovia in the year 1998. The aim of establishing the scholarship was to provide financial assistance to enterprising youth in Nigeria. The scholarship, right from October 2010, has been able to benefit over 1500 beneficiaries, many more are expected to benefit from this and has given out over 100 million naira.This scholarship is a world class recognized one.

Vision and Mission of Ovia Scholarship

The rationale for establishing the Jim Ovia Scholarship is to create a network of future leaders among Nigerians undergraduate students and post graduate students who can favorably compete globally with their peers, bring new ideas, creativity and are committed to improving the lives and circumstances of people in their respective communities.

Number of Scholarship: 100 students will be opportune to be awarded the Jim Ovia scholarship which is carried out annually.

Benefits Derived from the Scholarship

• Eligible awardees are backed-up for their graduate and undergraduate study for specific time of their program and it includes tuition fee and maintenance allowance.

Scholarship Eligibility

Applicants must

1. Be citizens of Nigeria.
2. Have leadership qualities and personal intellectual abilities.
3. Have a desire to contribute to society at large to improve the lives of others.
4. Be Graduates or Undergraduates in any approved Nigerian University
