Job Title 1: Senior Engineer, Transmission Planning & Optimisation

Location: Abuja, NG

Job Summary

  • Plans, designs and optimizes all access transmission links for sites, enterprise rollout and last mile deployments for the entire 9 Mobile Network

Principal Functions

  • Responsible for the planning and design of microwave links to support 9 Mobile site, enterprise rollout and last mile deployments in the northern region of Nigeria.
  • Responsible for all transmission link budgets and transmission designs for site rollout activities.
  • Responsible for network resilience plans and designs in the northern region of Nigeria.
  • Responsible for the design of transmission links for site connectivity and ensure limited sites dependencies on hub and major hub sites.
  • Responsible for the design and planning of microwave last-mile links to support POI and MGW Connections.
  • Responsible for the design and planning of all upgrades with reference to Iub cases and BTS sites optimization.
  • Responsible and supervises all desktop surveys for all enterprise clients and validates backhaul connectivities.
  • Responsible for planning and designing transmission links to support UMTS, LTE and 5G.
  • Responsible for frequency planning for microwave transmission networks.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of a structured growth plan for future traffic

Planning:

  • Responsible for the development and planning of effective microwave transmission network protection methods.
  • Coordinate and compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Head, Transmission.
  • Supervises the approval of all network drawings, TSS reports and review of all low-level design documents in R3.
  • Supervises the conducting line of sight(LOS) survey for transmission links in region 3.
  • Supervises the generation of work order to technical project delivery (TPD), Network Rollout and Transmission Operation(TXOP).
  • Keeps abreast of global and local best practice as it relates to transmission planning and design.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge and databases of existing access transmission infrastructures in EMTS.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Manager.

Educational Requirements

  • First degree or equivalent in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • Three (3) years relevant work experience.

Job Title 2: Senior Engineer, VAS

Location: Abuja, NG

Job Summary

  • Operate and maintain VAS platforms/ systems to ensure constant (24 hours) availability and stability.
  • Technical support operations and projects for the deployment and delivery of VAS products and services.

Principal Functions

  • Put in place strategies to ensure 99.99% network and service availability of VAS nodes
  • Work closely with vendors in the testing, implementation and maintenance of services as required by the business (Commercial and Marketing requirements)
  • Perform a comprehensive analysis of faults/failures on VAS nodes to determine the root cause and conduct corrective action for permanent resolution in a timely manner
  • Analyse daily generated alarms and error logs, report, trends and implement a proactive measure
  • Work closely with other stakeholders (products development, customer care and Network Planning)to deliver quality value-added services.
  • Develop and apply high level of skills, knowledge and standards to stay current with business and industry trends.
  • Apply proactive approach towards performance management, and suggest corrective measures to arrest any shortfalls
  • Perform acceptance tests on newly implemented VAS platforms to validate features, capacity and functions
  • Have a full understanding of VAS protocols including SMPP, USSDI&II, SIP, XML, Diameter, HTTP(S), SS7, SIGTRAN, Web services, IP and others (SNMP, ICMP, etc)
  • Perform other assigned duties as delegated by Manager PS & CS VAS

Educational Requirements

  • First degree or equivalent in Engineering or Science
  • Four (4) to Six (6) years post NYSC work experience

Experience, Skills & Competencies:

  • Expert knowledge of Network Availability and Capacity Management
  • Good understanding of technology evolution (Cloud Computing, Software-Defined Networking (SDN), network functions virtualization (NFV), IoT, M2M, AI etc.)

Job Title 3: Specialist, Security Operations

Location: Abuja, NG

Job Summary

  • Assist to coordinate the provision of efficient and effective security services support to safeguard EMTS’s assets and personnel.

Principal Functions
Operational:

  • Update security policies and procedures on a regular basis in line with environmental realities and innovation.
  • Assist to facilitate training of security guards on security policies and procedures.
  • Participate in periodic site visits to assess/verify adequate security officers/guards at various office locations.
  • Monitor Service level Agreement (SLA)with security service providers.
  • Act as a key interface between EMTS and security service provider officers.
  • Monitor activities of security officers at office location and sites ensuring optimal service delivery and compliance with stated policies and procedures.

Job Title 4: Manager, Electronic and Alternate Channels

Job Summary

  • This role will have overall responsibility for the Strategy Conceptualization, Development &Implementation for aggressive growth of new & non-traditional sales channels as well as ensure achievement of Electronic [Virtual] Airtime Sales Goals.
  • The Manager Electronic& Alternate Channels  will work closely with Commercial Leadership as well as Functional Teams from Marketing, Digital Media, VAS Development and Product Development & Quality Assurance teams to develop and execute an aligned Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy aimed at growing Sales Revenues through partnerships/channel transactions.

Principal Functions

  • Development of new and non-traditional Sales Channels and driving the DAC Initiative for 9mobile
  • Manage existing Electronic & Alternate Channels [TKAs, VADs & LCC] for optimum output to achieve sales goals and objectives
  • Drive aggressive growth of Virtual Airtime Sales to ensure achievement of set goals and objectives
  • Develop and Implement Incentive/Commission Schemes for Electronic & Alternate Channel Partners aimed at Channel & Revenue growth
  • Continually assess marketplace and define target reseller partners; recruit and sign Strategic Resellers
  • Development of solutions [products and services] that meets business goals based on Customer/Partner requirements
  • Build team that provides day-to-day support for Channel Partners to help them sell and support 9mobile services

Job Title 5: Engineer, Fixed Transmission

Job Summary

  • Provide necessary support towards the proper integration of new backbone, access and leased transmission links including copper, microwave and OFC media.

Principal Functions

  • Liaise with the regional field support engineers to resolve prolonged and repetitive transmission faults.
  • Assist in the implementation of preventive, corrective and configuration orders/change request work order inline with the work order/change request process
  • Escalate inter-MSC, MSC-BSC, BSC-BSC and interconnect transmission links faults; follow up with vendors and third party service providers to ensure these faults are resolved within defined SLA
  • Ensure transmission operation work undertaken by vendors/service providers meet EMTS specifications and ensure adherence to SLAs with vendors (Interconnect Partners, Transmission link providers)
  • Assist in managing the performance and availability of backbone and access transmission service systems/service deployed -radio/microwave/OFC as well as interconnect links
  • Keep and maintain comprehensive sets of records for all transmission links
  • Ensure all security and network integrity documentation is completed and adhered to
  • Prepare and compile report on the transmission of leased, backbone and access transmission links in light of the SLAs
  • Assist in conducting routine performance checks on the transmission links via the NMS systems to ensure the desired QoS and customer experience
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Manager, Fixed Transmission HLS.
